Goal of Regranting
The goal of the San Benito County Arts Council’s Regranting Program is to develop and promote cultural and artistic growth in San Benito County.
Project Guidelines
- Proposed projects must be relevant to and for the benefit of San Benito County residents.
- Projects must encourage artistic and/or cultural expression, interaction and awareness in the visual, literary, performing (i.e. music, dance) and/or traditional arts.
- Projects must demonstrate quality, originality and creativity through artistic production.
In 2011, the Arts Council distributed five awards, totaling $2,300, to arts organizations in San Benito County to promote the arts, engage in artistic production and encourage community participation. Recipients included the:
- San Benito Stage Company
- Calpulli Iztapapalotl Danza Azteca
- Hollister Art League
- Aromas Hills Artisans
- Mr. O’s Academy of the Arts

Grant Application Guidelines
Applicants will be required to submit the following:
- Grant application cover sheet
- One-page narrative describing the proposed project
- Budget that shows 1) overall cost of the project 2) how SBC Arts Council funds will be used and 3) source and amount of any matching funds or “in-kind” donations
- One paragraph description of organization’s mission, history & goals (For arts organizations only)
- Resumé (For individual artists only)
Application is closed (deadline was August 5, 2011)
Criteria
- Does the project provide access to high quality artistic experiences for San Benito County residents?
- Does the project demonstrate initiative, innovation, creativity and potential for excellence?
- Is the project well-planned, structured and organized to ensure success?
- Does the project have a realistic budget, including the use of other resources?
